Day one of recovery.......

Well today they extubated Colin and he was doing well. They also pulled his left chest tube out. He was doing well, until they noticed that his left lung looked cloudy and they were affraid that it would collapse, so they put him back on a CPAP machine. He is doing really well however and looks great. Dr. Bacha and Dr. Freed both were very happy with his progress. Lets just hope he doesn't get a flat in the left lung. Of course, since Colin was doing so well, Nanna stayed with him so Melanie and I could go take a tour of Fenway Park, however we got the news that the left lung looked cloudy 5 minutes before the tour started, so we got in a cab and went back. Maybe tomorrow......

Look at those beautiful little eyes...
I hope he gets off cpap soon.
We'll keep checking on you guys..
(and his eyes look good..no big pupils--I was always anxious about the pupils with the withdrawl).
Sweet dreams to you all.

Here's hoping that the CPAP machine gives Colin a little extra boost for his lung and that they can take it off him soon. He really looks good. As precious as always! Love, Auntie Susie

oh that picture is just so precious! ...he looks like he's just chillin and taking it day by day :)

it will be nice to give his little body a break. it's crazy what these heart kids go through - it's pretty unexplainable and gives us parents a much different perspective on life. thank goodness for these talented doctors and the miracles they make happen everyday!

look out for the kisses - we blew them your way! the manning family
